Rochelle Municipal Airport-Koritz Field announced that it has finalized details with Swift Fuels, LLC, and has begun selling Swift’s unleaded UL94 aviation gasoline for its piston aircraft customers. This announcement marks yet another milestone for Swift Fuels, with Rochelle Airport being the first airport in Illinois to join the campaign.
Dublin Municipal Airport (9F0) is now selling unleaded UL94 aviation gas for piston aircraft in collaboration with Swift Fuels. Dublin is the first airport in Texas to begin the nationwide transition to sell unleaded aviation gasoline.
Swift Fuels is the only company selling unleaded avgas in the United States and has expanded its distribution network across the country. Swift is available at airports from California to Maryland and Michigan to Florida.
After a year of fights with neighbors who said leaded fuel from the Walter J. Koladza Airport in Great Barrington might be contaminating the aquifer, the airport is supplementing its mainstay leaded fuel with Swift Fuels' UL94, a 94-octane, unleaded product. About half of the roughly 50 planes that fuel up at Koladza will be able to use the unleaded fuel, the airport's business manager said.
